Audrey Slaughter - A Roadmap for College
With more than 15 years of education and leadership training experience I still find joy in helping students find their voice as they start applying to colleges. All my experience is dedicated to demystifying the application process so the exploration of potential schools is exciting instead of daunting.
In addition to one-on-one student attention, I developed and facilitated workshops on subjects such as Teen Leadership & Communication, Peer Mentoring, College Essays, and Majors/Career Planning. In 2016, I received the Circle of Empowerment Award for my leadership and girl empowerment initiatives from the Girl Scouts of Northern California.
As college admission standards constantly change, I stay current through touring over 15 college visits annually, attending national association conferences, and collaborating with fellow educational consultants to stay on top of trends and industry news. This continuing education gives you and your student the most current knowledge of the college admissions industry and new developments!
I returned to college myself in order to deepen my understanding of counseling techniques and the college admissions industry, when I earned a Certificate in College and Career Counseling with Distinction from UC Berkeley. After I earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, I began a career with over 10 years of experience in marketing and business development in companies such as Imaginarium, ATT and Macy’s. This decade helped me hone my strategic thinking and taught me how to build product loyalty and recognition.
My husband and I have lived in Northern California for more than 25 years. We have two daughters who followed their individual college roadmaps to California Poly San Luis Obispo and Southern Oregon University, respectively.
